in Nova Scotia in Canada (i will apologize continuously and say ‘eh’ once or twice) and grew up in a small town called Ketch Harbour (think seaside town, freezing cold water with lobsters and beer galore).
Now I live in Queenstown New Zealand. Like many before me, I came to the beautiful country of New Zealand for a few months on a working holiday visa and before I knew it I blinked my eyes and many years have passed, and I've managed to build my new home here in Tahuna Queenstown.
in the wilderness of the Otago area, a walk up Queenstown hill or the mountains of Arrowtown with friends in my spare time. Equally, I love getting dressed up and glammed for a night of good food and tasty drinks with my friends.
I am quite the foodie so you'll find me scouting out the best spots to find tasty treasures. I love a kombucha or glass of rosé in the sun on a summer’s day or a black coffee in winter. I also love watching a good binge worthy series or a history piece movie.
Some might say I am a terrible Canadian as I only just started skiing the mountains here in Winter but to be honest I prefer a warm day over the cold. There is something special about seeing the snow on the Remarkables though!
I worked many weddings and from that early time I would always just love the ceremony part of the day. There was something so special and captivating about making it official in front of your closest friends and family, I would often sneak away during this part and always seemed to shed a tear and then get in trouble for not working and polishing the glasses fast enough but I always felt drawn to this part of the wedding day.
I became a wedding celebrant back in 2020 when the idea came to me to be able to officiate for some of my best friends', ever since I've been so lucky to participate in lots of different ceremonies from small elopements to huge events. I have been in and around weddings for a very long time and have loved them all ever since.
that doesn't mean it has to be cheesy! And no two couples are the same, so neither should their ceremonies.
One of my very favorite parts of being a marriage celebrant is building a connection leading up to the ceremony. I want to know about your love story from your first date, first impression, first kiss to your engagement and all of the details in between. I use all of these fun little stories and moments you share with me to build something that is truly you.
My main goal is to make sure that your ceremony is all about your love story, all the while making sure you feel relaxed, calm and understood, throw in a splash of romance and humor and we have ourselves the perfect wedding ceremony.
